Research direction:
Disease of poultry. We mainly research about the Anatid herpesvirus, as known as Duck plague virus or Duck enteritis virus.
Mechanisms of Herpesvirus genome cleavage and packaging. We are studying the process of Anatid Herpesvirus genome cleavage and packaging and we have analyzed the “a sequence” of anatid herpesvirus genome and finded it is cleaved in a special site.
We are also interest in the function of protein involved in the process, such as the terminase complex, portal protein and the other capsid protein. In addition, CATC, a special component of herpesvirus capsid, is the next aim for us to explore. CATC is an essentially functional hub in the herpesvirus life cycle and involved in capsid stability, genome packaging, transport of capsid in the cell and so on.
Development of vaccine.Duck plague is an acute and contagious fatal disease with high morbidity and mortality in domestic waterfowl and we also develop the vaccine to resist the infection of DPV.
